The University of Hartford is pleased to announce the following local students have been named to the Dean's List for Spring 2014.

Nearly 1,100 students graduated from the University of Hartford during its Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 18.

To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

Students have been named Presidential Scholars for the spring 2014 semester at Clarkson University.

To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

The following students were named to the dean's list at Bates College for the winter 2014 semester -- a distinction earned by students whose cumulative grade point average is 3.71 or higher.

A total of 50 Stonehill College students will work with 25 faculty members on a variety of research projects this summer through the Stonehill Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program. The program provides students with an opportunity to perform significant, publishable research under the guidance of an experienced faculty researcher.

This past February, 57 Champlain College students competed to pitch an original and creative business idea to Burlington area business people who would then decide on a first, second and third place winner in three different categories. The categories included non-profit/ social advocacy, job/internship seekers, and entrepreneurs.
